1. Who we are

suspect.town is a website for hosting and playing social deduction games with friends. It is run by Glitch Arcade (“we”, “us”). These terms are a contract between you and us about using the site. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.

2. Who may use the site

You must be at least 13 years old to use suspect.town. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16, or have a parent or guardian’s consent. By using the site you confirm this is true.

You may join a game as a guest with only a display name. To keep a handle, an avatar and a game history across games, you sign in with a Google or Discord account.

3. Accounts and handles

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your login secure and tell us if you think someone else is using it.

Handles are first come, first served. We may reclaim or rename a handle that impersonates someone, contains slurs or trademarks, or has been abandoned. You can change your handle within the limits shown in your profile.

You can delete your account from your profile page. Deletion is scheduled with a short grace period, after which your account and its links to game records are removed. Archived game records keep only the display name you played under.

4. Playing fair and treating people well

Social deduction games are built on bluffing, so lying inside a game is the game. Everything else follows normal decency. You agree not to:

• harass, threaten, or discriminate against other players, in chat, in names, or over video;
• share another person’s private information;
• use the site to send spam, malware, or unlawful content;
• cheat by reading other players’ screens, sharing secret role information outside the game, or interfering with the service;
• scrape, overload, or probe the site, or try to get around any limit or safety control;
• impersonate us, a moderator, or another player.

Moderators can kick, mute, and remove players from their own games. We can suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or close rooms that break these terms, and we do not have to warn you first.

5. Your content

You own what you create on suspect.town: chat messages, custom roles, room and game names, avatars. You give us a licence to store, display, and transmit that content so the site can work, for as long as it is on the site, plus whatever is needed for backups and for keeping archived game records.

You are responsible for having the rights to anything you upload. We can remove content that breaks these terms or the law. If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, write to us through our contact page with the details and we will look into it.

6. Live video and audio

Some game modes let players share their camera and microphone with the room. Streams go directly between players through a media relay and are not recorded or stored by us. Anyone in the room can see and hear you while you share. Other players might record their own screens; we cannot control that, so share only what you are comfortable with.

7. The service and changes to it

suspect.town is provided as it is, and it is a work in progress. We add, change, and remove features, roles, and rules, and we may take the site down for maintenance. Rooms, lobbies, and unfinished games are temporary and get cleaned up automatically after a while.

The site is free to use today. If we introduce paid features later, we will publish separate terms for them before charging anyone.

8. No warranty and limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the site is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost games, or lost profits, arising out of your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, if any, and fifty US dollars.

Some places do not allow some of these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. If a dispute comes up, please reach out first through our contact page; most problems can be sorted out that way.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top tells you when they last changed. For material changes we will post a notice on the site. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
